PURPOSE:

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for designing and developing efficient manufacturing layout, material flow, and maximizing space utilization. He is also responsible for performing other Industrial engineering functions to drive overall efficiency and improvements.

Primary Responsibilities

Reviews current layout, identifies space requirements, understands production processes, & material flows and identify opportunities for improvement.Develops, designs, and recommends efficient layout & flow of people, materials, manufacturing, & equipmentImplement and execute layout improvement projectsPerforms other Industrial engineering functions such as conducting motion and time studies, line balancing, resource planning, etc.Performs cycle time and takt time analysisDrives the standardization of processes through providing Standard Work Procedure and Standard Work SheetsEliminate waste through continuous improvement projectsInteracts with production, warehouse, purchasing, facilities, suppliers, and contractors to implement the projectAny other tasks as may be required

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree With min 5 years of IE work related experience in a manufacturing environmentShould have experience in using Computer- Aided Design software such as AutoCad, Visual Factory etc.Knowledgeable in production process, designing material flow, layout and process flows, capacity planning.Excellent computer skills & proficient using Microsoft office.Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and Value Stream MappingCan read & understand CAD drawings
