Job Summary

The Senior Analyst, Assortment Optimization will play a meaningful role in helping Giant Eagle develop rich insights about customer and market trends to inform our merchandising plans. In this role you will be on to use your analytical skills and strong data literacy to clarify the problem, analyze the data, and communicate the story for nontechnical stakeholders The senior analyst will play a key role in interfacing with business, merchandising and marketing stakeholders to both prioritize areas of opportunity within existing businesses. This role requires equal parts of analysis and creativity.

Experience Required: 3 to 5 years analytics ;5+ years of experience in assortment optimizationDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior analysts;Experience Desired: Retail environmentEducation Desired: Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related fieldExperience Required: Advanced Excel and PowerBI skills,Ability to read and edit SQL queries

Job Responsibilities

Interpret results and develop actionable recommendations from the data analysis to build action plans with business stakeholdersPerform SKU rationalization analyses, using composite scores based on sales, units, margins, and customer penetration to recommend optimal assortments.Monitor assortment performance across stores to ensure alignment with customer preferences and market trends.Identify gaps in the current assortment and recommend new product opportunities to drive category growthLead cross-functional teams to establish effective analytics to inform business decisionsContribute to developing, defining, and completing custom projects and analytics that help drive rich customer understanding to drive a customer centric mentality across our organizationLead and manage projects, tasks, and stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specifications.Coach and develop junior talent within the team to ensure all team members continuing to build on their technical acumen
