Sr. Accountant/Job Costing
Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with and interest in the construction industry and job costing to join our rapidly growing construction client in the Trevose, Pennsylvania area. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations, ensuring accurate project cost tracking, and contributing to strategic decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity to transition from public accounting into a dynamic private industry setting within the construction sector. Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain comprehensive job costing systems to track project expenses, budgets, and profitability. • Analyze cost variances and provide actionable insights to improve financial outcomes. • Collaborate with project managers to create and monitor budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. • Prepare detailed financial forecasts and reports to support effective project management. • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards while generating financial reports. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting workflows. • Act as a key liaison between accounting, project management, and other departments to ensure seamless financial operations. • Present financial data and cost analyses to leadership, offering recommendations to mitigate risks and improve profitability. • Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. • At least 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or audit, with a strong interest in transitioning to private industry. • Familiarity with job costing, particularly in construction, real estate, or other project-driven industries not necessary but a big plus! • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. • Strong analytical abilities, with a proven capacity to interpret and present complex financial data. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams. • A proactive attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment. • Experience with month-end close processes, general ledger management, and account reconciliations.
