Sr. Accountant - Financial Reporting & Accounting

The Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting & Accounting will be primarily responsible for supporting the monthly and quarterly financial close process, including the preparation, reconciliations, and analysis of financial data. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. The role also supports the preparation of external filings and financial disclosures and will work closely with both internal teams and external auditors. In addition to the financial reporting and monthly close responsibilities, this role will be in charge of the accounting related to certain employee compensation and benefit plans.

Primary Responsibilities

Support the monthly and quarterly financial close process, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and analyzing trends.Assist with the accounting and reporting for stock-based compensation, bonuses, and benefit related accruals.Analyze accounting information and provide accurate and timely analysis when participating in monthly financial trend meetings with senior management.Assist with preparation and maintain support for the Company’s SEC filings, including the quarterly and annual reports on Form 10-Q and 10-K, Form 11-K for the Company’s 401(k) retirement plan and annual Proxy.Develop and maintain documentation for key accounting policies, procedures, financial reporting calendars, and key controls in accordance with internal standards for assigned areas of responsibility.Communicate with the external auditors on financial statements and accounting matters to ensure auditor agreement with Company decisions on accounting disclosures and issues.Work cross-functionally with accounting, payroll and human resource teams and other various departments in the Company to complete tasks.Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to financial systems, reporting processes and automation.

Job Qualifications

Education:  

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance requiredCPA or CPA-track preferred

Required Experience:

3 to 5 years of overall accounting experience with 2+ years of public accounting experience preferredSEC reporting experience preferredStrong understanding of U.S. general accepted accounting principlesKnowledge of accounting practices and departmental processesDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlinesStrong project management skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize dutiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient with accounting and general ledger systems (SAP preferred)Proficient with Microsoft OfficeAbility to thoroughly research and document new and existing accounting guidance
