About the RoleWe’re seeking a Lead Accountant / Accounting Manager to own complex accounting areas and drive end-to-end close processes in a fast-paced, large public company environment.
This is a highly visible role where you’ll combine strong technical accounting expertise with automation, systems, and AI-driven process improvements to scale and optimize operations.
What You’ll Be DoingOwn key accounting areas across month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closePrepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reportingLead fixed asset accounting (capitalization, depreciation, disposals, impairments)Oversee payroll accounting including accrals, entries, and reconciliationsPerform flux, variance, and trend analysis and present insights to leadershipManage cash and bank reconciliations in partnership with TreasuryEnsure SOX compliance and maintain strong internal controlsDrive automation and process improvements, leveraging AI-enabled toolsReview outputs from automated workflows and AI processesSupport and optimize NetSuite (or similar ERP) functionalityCollaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Payroll, FP&A, Treasury, and AuditTop Skills We’re Looking ForPayroll AccountingGeneral Ledger (GL) AccountingFixed Asset AccountingExperience in a large, publicly traded companyNetSuite preferred (SAP/Oracle also considered)QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field7+ years of progressive accounting experience (public + industry preferred)CPA strongly preferredExperience operating at a Lead Accountant or Accounting Manager levelWhat Sets You ApartDeep expertise in US GAAP, GL, and SOX complianceProven ability to own complex accounting areas (payroll, fixed assets, cash, close)Strong background in automation, system implementations, and process improvementExperience leveraging AI tools or advanced reporting solutionsAbility to review and validate automated/AI-generated outputsAdvanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasetsExcellent communication skills in a remote, cross-functional environmentWhy This Role?High-impact role with ownership and autonomyExposure to modern accounting systems + AI-driven processesOpportunity to drive innovation and scalabilityCollaborative, forward-thinking finance organizationJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Draper, UT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
