Sr. Accountant
Description **Please note this is a fully remote role, but candidates must be local to the Charlotte, NC area** We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Huntersville, North Carolina. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the improvement of internal processes. Responsibilities: • Oversee the monthly and annual closing processes, ensuring all financial data is accurate and consolidated effectively. • Prepare and post journal entries during month-end close, ensuring proper documentation and compliance. • Conduct detailed reviews and analyses of income statement accounts to identify discrepancies and trends. • Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts and address any related accounting discrepancies. • Research and apply appropriate accounting treatments for transactions in line with company policies and industry standards. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement streamlined accounting procedures. • Assist in developing and documenting business processes and policies to enhance internal controls. • Support initiatives such as statutory audits, lease accounting improvements, and other finance-related projects. • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth and efficient audit processes. • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the accounting team. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred but not mandatory. • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial analysis. • Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. • Experience with general ledger management, month-end close processes, and lease accounting is highly desirable. • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar accounting software is a plus. • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
