Description We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with 5–7 years of real estate accounting experience for an on‑site role located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and has a strong background in real estate, property management, or development, with expertise in preparing and reporting financial information to stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial management. Responsibilities: • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports to provide insights to owners and management. • Perform month-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure proper financial tracking. • Create and post journal entries to reflect accurate financial activities. • Conduct account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies. • Oversee bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are properly recorded. • Collaborate with management to address financial inquiries and provide recommendations. • Monitor financial controls and implement improvements to optimize processes. • Assist in compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements. • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property management, or development. • Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger account management. • Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation. • Experience with bank reconciliation and financial reporting. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders. • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accuracy and compliance.
