Sr. Accountant
Description A growing development and property management organization based in Dallas is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join its team. This role is responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining accounting records for an assigned property portfolio, and reviewing work completed by staff accountants. Key Responsibilities • Maintain a strong understanding of Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring accurate monthly financial reporting. • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for property stakeholders. • Review monthly close processes completed by property management teams. • Serve as a primary point of contact for property management regarding accounting-related matters. • Support Accounts Payable by verifying proper invoice coding. • Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports within required timelines. • Communicate effectively with property stakeholders and provide requested ad hoc financial information. • Prepare audit schedules and coordinate communication with external auditors. • Post monthly and annual journal entries and manage all general ledger functions for assigned properties. • Assist with tasks related to properties under development or nearing completion. • Lead the process of converting construction loans to permanent financing. • Track and gather documentation required for capital contribution requests. • Prepare annual surplus cash calculations for stabilized properties. • Train and support Staff Accountants as needed. • Assist with additional accounting functions such as treasury management, corporate accounting, and other related areas. Requirements Qualifications • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. • Experience with LIHTC is preferred. • HUD experience is a plus. • Property accounting experience required. • CPA license or active CPA candidate preferred. • Public accounting experience is beneficial. • Experience with accounting or property management software such as MRI, RealPage, Yardi, or Sage 300 Construction is a plus. + Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
