Description We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Morganton, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will play a key role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the organization's financial success through meticulous analysis and reporting. Responsibilities: • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and submitted timely. • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring transactions are appropriately recorded. • Prepare and post journal entries while adhering to established accounting principles. • Conduct detailed account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly. • Perform bank reconciliations to verify accuracy between financial records and bank statements. • Analyze financial data to provide insights and support decision-making processes. • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on financial procedures and goals. • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries. • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices. Requirements • Proven experience in accounting or a related financial role. • Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger management. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts. • Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes and financial statement preparation. • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders. • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
