Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Jamestown, New York. This role involves overseeing critical accounting functions, supporting financial reporting activities, and ensuring accurate allocation of revenues and expenses. You will play a key role in maintaining systematic financial records and supervising assigned staff while contributing to the analysis and development of program-specific business plans. Responsibilities: • Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial data. • Oversee general ledger maintenance and ensure compliance with accounting standards. • Prepare and review journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records. • Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow activities. • Support the Assistant Director of Finance in managing financial operations and reporting. • Allocate revenue and expenses across various programs and analyze program-specific financial data. • Supervise and mentor assigned staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to policies. • Maintain systematic records of financial transactions and assist with audits as needed. • Develop and analyze business plans to enhance program effectiveness and financial performance. Requirements • Proven experience in accounting, with strong expertise in month-end close processes. • Proficiency in managing general ledger operations and preparing journal entries. • Skilled in performing account and bank reconciliations with attention to detail. • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. • Experience in supervising staff and managing team workflows. • Ability to analyze financial data and develop program-specific business strategies. • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain systematic financial records. • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
