Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for a dedicated Senior Accountant to join a growing healthcare and biotechnology company based in the North Brunswick, New Jersey area. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a hands-on environment and can work independently, with occasional in-office requirements. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, inventory accounting, and cost analysis. Salary is 100,000 - 110,000. Benefits include medical and dental insurance, and 401k. Responsibilities: • Oversee and execute month-end financial reporting processes and prepare detailed financial schedules. • Maintain and enhance the functionality of the company’s inventory management system. • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual financial audit and ensure compliance. • Develop and refine budgeting models and forecasting structures to support strategic planning. • Prepare comprehensive monthly financial statements for presentation to senior management and the board of directors. • Manage the preparation of monthly and year-end closing statements along with other essential financial documents. • Utilize QuickBooks Online software to manage financial transactions and reporting efficiently. • Apply cost accounting principles to monitor and analyze inventory and operational costs. • Conduct financial analysis to address investor inquiries and provide actionable insights. Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close processes, including preparing financial statements and schedules. • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation. • Proficiency in account reconciliation and bank reconciliation tasks. • Demonstrated expertise in managing inventory systems and cost accounting. • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and its functionalities. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities in a small-team environment. • Excellent analytical skills for financial forecasting and reporting. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with auditors, investors, and senior management.
