Description Senior Accountant Location: Bethpage, Long Island, NY Anna Parson at Robert Half is seeking an analytical and well-rounded Senior Accountant to work closely with the Controller to support critical accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in distribution/manufacturing, and skilled in QuickBooks and Excel. As the Senior Accountant, you will: + Assist with month-end close processes, including preparing reconciliations and journal entries. + Assist in preparing accurate and timely multi-entity financial statements. + Review Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) transactions for accuracy. + Prepare and submit multi-state sales tax returns. + Conduct detailed financial analyses to drive business decisions. + Support the Controller with budgeting and forecasting processes. Requirements What We’re Looking For: + Industry Expertise: Proven experience working with distribution or manufacturing companies. + Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas). + Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. CPA or CMA certification is a plus. + Skills & Attributes: Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments.
