ResponsibilitiesThe senior accountant/analyst is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.Prepare financial management reports.Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close.Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting and control procedures.Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.Continuous support of budget and forecasted activities.Financial audit preparation and coordination.Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues/expenses.Complete Account ReconciliationsAssist with SOX ComplianceAnalyze and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends.Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, and provide strategic recommendations.Special projects as assigned.
The Senior Accountant/Analyst may specialize in one area of the accounting function. Additional specific tasks may include the following:
Compile and analyze financial statementsPrepare monthly and quarterly exhibits and schedulesCalculate and prepare monthly journal entriesAnalysis monthly dataPrepare required and requested reinsurance statistics and exhibitsPrepare and file insurance regulatory reportsMay perform other functions as assigned
Qualifications Five plus years of relevant accounting experienceKnowledge of accepted accounting practices and principlesStrong PC skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office productsExcellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to improve work processesAbility to manage a special project teamTeam player with initiativeEducation
