Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Buffalo, New York. This role is ideal for a meticulous individual who excels in managing financial transactions, reconciliations, and asset oversight. As a critical member of our finance department, you will play a key role in ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting processes.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and manage inventory-related transactions, including cost setup for new items, monthly cost adjustments, inventory reconciliations, and calculations for obsolete inventory.
• Oversee physical inventory counts and cycle count procedures to maintain accurate records.
• Analyze work order variances and review bills of materials to identify discrepancies and provide insights.
• Administer fixed asset activities, including project management, monthly depreciation, asset transfers, impairment reviews, and physical asset counts.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring adherence to official accounting standards and guidelines.
• Create and reconcile journal entries while overseeing monthly and annual account closing processes.
• Contribute to quarterly and annual tax packages by providing accurate data related to fixed assets, inventory, and sales.
• Support the development of budgets and forecasts by providing detailed financial analysis.
• Prepare and supply supporting documentation for audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably with expertise in inventory management and fixed assets.
• Proficiency in month-end close processes, including journal entry and general ledger management.
• Strong skills in account reconciliation and bank reconciliation procedures.
• Familiarity with annual inventory processes and reporting requirements.
• High attention to detail and ability to analyze financial data for variances and discrepancies.
• Solid understanding of financial statement preparation and tax package contributions.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly preferred.
