Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial processes and ensuring compliance with relevant standards, while providing expertise in areas such as audits, financial reporting, and tax strategies. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external advisors to drive operational efficiency and maintain accuracy in all financial activities. Essential Job Functions · Collaborate with external auditors to ensure compliance with IFRS and support the year-end audit process. · Monitor and evaluate internal control effectiveness; ensure adherence to delegation of authority policies and contribute to ongoing control improvements. · Conduct regular process reviews to identify and implement best practices, driving efficiency and accuracy across financial operations. · Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on tax matters; provide training and guidance to cross-functional teams. · Support the preparation of IFRS-compliant financial statements and related disclosures. · Assist in month-end closing by preparing accurate and complete consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flows. · Coordinate and assist with external audits of consolidated financial statements under IFRS. · Prepare and analyze journal entries related to mark-to-market accounting; maintain strong understanding of valuation principles and reporting implications. · Liaise with external tax advisors to develop strategies that minimize the company’s tax liability while ensuring compliance Requirements • Comprehensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including practical experience with IFRS 16 lease accounting. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation with at least 5 years of experience, preferably in public accounting or with a Big 4 firm. • Strong background in audit support, including preparing audit schedules and collaborating with external auditors. • Proficiency in preparing consolidation and elimination entries for multi-entity financial reporting. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools. • Industry experience in food processing or manufacturing, with a solid understanding of cost and operational accounting principles. • Familiarity with international tax matters, including cross-border considerations, is an advantage.
