Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role is essential for managing and overseeing key financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reporting, reconciliation, and budgeting, along with a strong ability to lead and organize complex accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the monthly financial close process and prepare comprehensive financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Conduct detailed reconciliations of accounts, including balance sheet and bank accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Lead the development and coordination of the annual budget and perform in-depth variance analysis throughout the fiscal year.
• Manage and supervise accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to ensure timely collection and disbursement of funds.
• Prepare and review general ledger journal entries, including fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations.
• Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain compliance.
• Support multiple annual external audits by preparing audit schedules and providing necessary documentation.
• Utilize advanced accounting software systems to streamline processes and maintain accurate financial data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve organizational efficiency and resolve accounting-related challenges. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), auditing standards, and financial reporting practices.
• Proficiency in using complex accounting software packages, such as QuickBooks or Oracle NetSuite.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to plan and prioritize tasks effectively, manage deadlines, and perform under pressure.
• Experience with preparing audit schedules and supporting external audit processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary to meet critical deadlines.
