Sr. Accountant
Description What you'll do The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in our month-end close, compliance, and financial reporting processes. This position will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data through reconciliations, tax filings, fixed asset tracking, and balancing intercompany transactions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment and have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a solid understanding of GAAP principles. Key Responsibilities: Support and execute the monthly close process for all entities Reconcile bank and credit card accounts across companies Maintain and reconcile intercompany accounts and loan balances Track and manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules Monitor and reconcile inventory balances and adjustments Calculate and file monthly sales and use tax returns Prepare and file monthly NC Highway Use Tax returns Oversee compliance with tax regulations, registrations, and filings (state and local) Maintain compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) reporting requirements, including audits and documentation Assist in developing internal controls and accounting SOPs Assist with financial audits, documentation preparation, and reporting requests Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or multi-entity environments Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls Experience with sales tax, fuel/highway tax, and compliance reporting Experience with job costing and department/class-based reporting preferred Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop (Enterprise experience preferred) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups) Highly organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments Familiarity with DOT regulations and reporting systems is a plus Experience with accounting software tools such as Bill.com Join us in this exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise as a Senior Accountant while contributing to our organization's success!
