Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Lewiston, Maine. In this role, you will handle advanced accounting tasks such as reconciliations, financial reporting, and data analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities: • Conduct detailed account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations, to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. • Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. • Analyze financial data and generate reports to support decision-making and ensure compliance with accounting standards. • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded properly. • Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze and manage financial data efficiently. • Collaborate with other departments to address financial inquiries and improve overall processes. • Ensure compliance with tax laws and accounting regulations in all financial practices. • Provide support during audits by preparing required documentation and addressing inquiries. • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and best practices to maintain a high level of expertise. Requirements • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, including reconciliations, financial reporting, and analysis. • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and tax regulations. • Experience with general ledger maintenance and month-end close processes. • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively. • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to various stakeholders.
