Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial records by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with tax and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze General Ledger journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate the posting of journal entries to the General Ledger, maintaining timely and precise records.
• File and prepare all sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Initiate and process wire transfers, bank account transfers, and stop payment requests as needed.
• Monitor Positive Pay activity, ensuring approval is obtained for transactions exceeding established limits.
• Reconcile and manage intangible assets and record fixed assets acquired through acquisitions.
• Oversee compaction equipment activity within systems such as Tower and JD Edwards, ensuring proper tracking of additions, deletions, and transfers.
• Process repairs and transactions related to Equipment Services, including fixed asset setups, transfers, and variance monitoring.
• Track and report unclaimed property in compliance with state escheatment rules, and research and file for reimbursements as necessary.
• Coordinate annual fixed asset inventories and adjust system records to reflect actual inventory findings. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Familiarity with current accounting practices and systems such as JD Edwards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
