Description
We are looking for an experienced Hybrid Senior Accountant to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance with regulatory standards, and providing insightful financial analysis within a government contracting framework. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cost accounting, indirect rate structures, and government contract compliance, along with a strong ability to support audits and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
• Lead the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and oversee cash management activities.
• Support government contract accounting activities, including cost accounting, indirect rate calculations, and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
• Assist in preparing pricing proposals and incurred cost submissions for government contracts.
• Monitor contract performance, funding, and billing to ensure compliance and proper revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with operations teams to resolve accounts receivable issues and ensure accurate coding.
• Contribute to external financial audits and assist with state and federal tax filings.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accounting operations and reporting efficiency.
• Maintain organized financial records and ensure audit readiness for both internal and external reviews.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including work with government contracts and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
• Demonstrated experience with month-end close processes, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Eligibility to work in government contract environments, including passing secure identity verification processes.
