Sr. Accountant
Description Our client, a local, multi-state leader in their industry, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team in Ontario, California. In this role, you will support the Assistant Controller by conducting technical accounting research, preparing financial statements, and managing mid-level complexity accounts. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can contribute to financial reporting and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities: • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for assigned accounts, including preparing journal entries and resolving balance sheet and profit and loss discrepancies. • Analyze financial results by comparing actual performance against budget for designated accounts. • Streamline and enhance the efficiency of accounting tasks and financial reporting processes. • Maintain detailed reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts on a regular basis. • Assist with Audit, review, and verify supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Collaborate with senior staff and operational departments to clarify transactions and resolve issues through ad hoc analyses. • Help to prepare and manage various accounting reports, ensuring thoroughness and timeliness. • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by leadership. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. • A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related function. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of delivering accurate results. • Proficiency in US GAAP and intermediate knowledge of bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Advanced computer skills, including intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel. • Familiarity with ERP accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP. • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and self-review capabilities.
