Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Ghent, Kentucky. This role involves overseeing critical accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to the preparation of accurate financial statements. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee general accounting operations, including multi-currency transactions, property taxes, and miscellaneous tax reporting, while ensuring compliance with company and government standards.
• Prepare, consolidate, and distribute accurate financial statements for all group entities, ensuring timely reporting to the parent company.
• Conduct monthly variance analyses to identify and explain financial performance trends.
• Review and assist accounts payable processes, including supplier invoice management, back-charges, and payment postings.
• Coordinate complex accounting projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and consult with external auditors and other advisors as needed.
• Review financial entries related to accounts payable accruals, amortization, capitalized interest, fixed assets, and depreciation.
• Evaluate and enforce compliance with capital and expense policies across departments, ensuring proper accounting practices.
• Guide and oversee general ledger entries and accounts payable voucher coding to maintain financial accuracy. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of general accounting experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fundamental accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, is essential.
• Familiarity with accounting systems such as JD Edwards Enterprise One and Dac Reports is a plus.
• Expertise in account reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
• Ability to perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for handling complex financial data.
