Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations, including month-end close processes, financial reporting, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles, contributing to the success of our advertising industry operations. Responsibilities: • Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures, including balance sheet and bank account reconciliations. • Prepare and manage journal entries for payroll, accruals, adjustments, and recurring transactions. • Ensure proper revenue recognition and oversee accurate financial reporting. • Analyze weekly accounts receivable aging, cash position, and revenue forecasts to support financial decision-making. • Lead regular status meetings with account teams to review billing, costs, and hours, ensuring reconciliations and cost allocations are accurate. • Oversee client billing processes in accordance with contractual agreements. • Prepare, review, and distribute required client reports in a timely manner. • Approve production and media purchase orders to ensure compliance with internal policies. • Coordinate annual tax preparation and manage miscellaneous tax filings, including NY Commercial Rent and SF Gross Receipts. • Complete monthly bank compliance reporting and fulfill ad hoc reporting requests as needed. Requirements • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the advertising industry. • Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger management. • Advanced knowledge of journal entries, including payroll and accruals. • Strong familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting. • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite. • Ability to manage client billing processes and ensure compliance with contractual agreements. • Solid understanding of tax preparation and compliance requirements.
