Sr. Accountant, Audit Experience a Plus!
Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, streamlining accounting processes, and supporting audits while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities: • Manage month-end close procedures, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger reviews. • Prepare internal financial statements and support the creation of quarterly reports for stakeholders. • Oversee operational accounting tasks such as accounts payable and receivable, fixed asset management, and intercompany transactions. • Assist in audit preparation by working closely with external auditors and compiling necessary documentation. • Support cash flow projections and budget versus actual analyses to inform financial decision-making. • Implement process improvements to enhance controls and streamline accounting workflows. • Ensure compliance with revenue and expense recognition standards while maintaining accurate financial results. • Collaborate with colleagues to improve reporting packages and meet tight deadlines when required. • Contribute to system upgrades and the standardization of accounting procedures to optimize efficiency. Requirements • Proven experience with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries. • Strong knowledge of general ledger systems and financial reporting standards. • Familiarity with audit processes and the ability to prepare audit schedules and documentation. • Proficiency in preparing monthly financial reports and supporting cash flow projections. • Expertise in operational accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset management. • Demonstrated ability to enhance accounting workflows and implement process improvements. • Solid understanding of revenue and expense recognition principles. • Experience with cost accounting and intercompany transaction oversight is a plus.
