Sr Technical Perfumer

Job Summary

At this stage, the SR Technical Perfumer demonstrates good leadership skills. Manage and build good relationship with internal and external customers. Completing Organizational Leadership Program is a mandatory requirement.
Responsible for the coordination of regional formula modifications and provides coaching and mentorship to JR Technical Perfumer.

Responsibilities •Manage critical issues. •Heavy interaction with creative perfumers, creative center director, commercial team, external customers, GRA. Some interaction with IFF leadership. •Communicates effectively, both inside and outside of the organization on both simple and complex subjects. Contributes interesting, informative, and well-received formal or informal presentations. •Good decision quality and problem-solving skills. Uses a combination of logic, analysis, tools, experience, wisdom, and methods to make sound, timely decision and to solve critical problems. Provides solutions and suggestions that are effective and accurate. •Communicates effectively, both inside and outside of the organization on both simple and complex subjects. •Could easily turn over assigned critical and sensitive reformulation tasks. •Manage, lead, and motivate teams to provide effective outcomes. •Exhibit project management skills. •Core competencies include Business Acumen, Decision quality, Presentation Skills, Building Effective Teams and Motivating. •25% Margin improvement: Reformulation to reduce cost, complexity and increase creative catalog and regulatory compliance. •10% Regulatory and customer compliance: Reformulation of existing selling fragrances to meet current regulatory and specific customer . •10% LPV/COV: Modify existing fragrances by formulating lower priced version. •10% MATERIAL MANAGEMENT •5% Identify, maintain replacers and alternatives equivalent or cheaper alternatives. •5% Rationalization: manage, support, promote. •5% Develop line extension fragrances. •10% Formula modification to address base changes, stability, performance and/or other technical issues. •5% Design for Manufacture: Formula review of potential new business. •10% Customer management: Internal and external. •10% Developing others: Training and mentoring. •5% Manage Teams: Lead the effort of activities in the region. Requirements •Time Span: Open ended. No automatic progression to SR Technical Perfumer but typically 8 to 10 years doing Technical Perfumery.
