Are you ready to make your mark? If you’re a Sr Tax Specialist, we have an exciting opportunity for you.  This role reports into a leader on Woodward’s global tax team and focuses on preparing and reviewing federal, state, and local income tax returns, information forms, and supporting workpapers for tax compliance, provision, and planning processes.

We’re looking for someone who brings strong technical tax skills, works independently, and takes ownership of complex assignments. The role also contributes to process improvements and collaborates regularly with management to ensure alignment and progress.

What You Will Be Doing 

Leverage tax software and digital tools (Excel, Alteryx, PowerBI, etc.) to compile data, perform calculations, and prepare review-ready workpapersPrepare and review complex corporate income tax returns, estimated payments, and provision componentsSupport tax planning and forecasting efforts, including preparation of tax forecasts for corporate accountingIdentify process improvement opportunities and implement identified efficiency enhancementsParticipate in cross-functional projects and support tax-related auditsResearch tax issues and assist in developing and implementing solutionsServe as a resource for all team members and contribute to knowledge sharingApply understanding of business operations to assess tax implications and support internal stakeholders

What We Are Looking For 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or JD preferred2–5 years of corporate tax or public accounting experienceSolid understanding of U.S. GAAP and corporate tax principlesProficient in tax compliance, provision, and research software; ONESOURCE experience a plusAdvanced Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with ERP systems, and general digital toolsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities, lead projects, and mentor junior team membersSkilled in identifying process improvements and applying lean conceptsComfortable working cross-functionally and presenting to various levels of the organizationGeneral understanding of tax risk and mitigation strategies
