Sr Systems Engineer

Join our team! As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. You'll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.

The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.

This position will support SNC's rapid development and fielding efforts, which bring cutting edge capabilities directly to the war fighter.

Responsibilities include:

Support planning, execution, and management of projects for large fixed wing platforms

Develop and maintain system requirements, architectures, and designs in alignment with customer needs

Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential technical challenges

Prepare and present technical reports and status updates to senior management and customers

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement

Support testing and demonstration efforts

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience

Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices

Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams

Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles

Knowledge and hands-on experience with networking protocols, hardware/software interface issues, and system/subsystem integration.

Familiarity with the latest trends and best practices in systems engineering, cybersecurity, and computer networking.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address and resolve hardware/software interface issues effectively, as well as identify capability gaps.

An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB

Knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)

Experience or certification in INCOSE standards

Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry

Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures

Thorough understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)

Knowledge of system integration lab operation to include hardware in the loop (HWIL) design

Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including continuous integration and deployment, automation, and monitoring

Experience with virtualized and containerized environment architecture, setup, administration and deployment (e.g., vSphere, Proxmox, RHEL KVM, OpenShift)

ISSO Security+, CISA, or CASP+ Certification

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $143,487.14 - $197,294.82. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
