The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to join our Data Services team, part of the Brand Management Organization, supporting the enterprise Customer Data Platform - a critical platform that integrates consumer data across Disney Parks, Studios, Disney+, ESPN, Shop Disney, and more.
This role plays a key part in enabling analytics and marketing teams through secure, scalable, and reliable data infrastructure. You will collaborate with engineers, analysts, marketers, and external partners to deliver solutions that support data onboarding, enhancement, and distribution across the enterprise.
This is a full-time role based in Burbank, CA., reporting to the Director of Data Services.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Data Engineers to automate workflows, infrastructure, and deployment processes.Manage system administration, including backups, Disaster/Recovery, and performance/security monitoring.Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of customer data systems.Continuously assess existing systems against industry best practices and recommend improvements.Support both internal integration efforts and external data-sharing initiatives.Manage Snowflake from all different aspects: Storage, Capacity planning, Data Integration, Data Sharing, and Access Control.Work closely with internal Global Security System group to ensure compliance of best practices. Continue to adhere to established security processes.Troubleshoot unforeseen system issues, and work closely with internal, and external support teams towards its resolution.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth environment with minimal direction.Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Equivalent5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer5+ years of experience supporting and/or implementing Enterprise Data Warehousing/Business Intelligent solutions for consumer analytics, ecommerce, or marketing.5+ years of experience with AWS (S3, EC2, ECS, ECR, R53, RDS, etc.).Admin-level experience with Snowflake.Admin-level experience Linux, and Windows OS.Proficient in Python and Shell scripting.Experience with Terraform, GitLab/GitHub, and monitoring tools like Datadog.Admin experience with Informatica PowerCenter or Developer.Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical EngineeringExperience with Airflow or NiFi data pipeline technologies.Experience administrating other ETL tools besides Informatica (Matillion, dbt).The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA $114,900 to $154,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
