Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced Sr. Staff Product Line Mission Systems and Interfaces Chief Engineer (CE) to serve as the technical leader for the Mission Systems and Interfaces Engineering (MSIE) team of the ESPAStar product line located in Gilbert, Arizona. The qualified candidate will serve as the definitive technical authority on the program and lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team supporting the mission planning, integration, launch and mission operations of vehicles as part of the ESPAStar product line.

Responsibilities:

Technical direction and execution of all aspects of mission engineering on a program including mission design, development, implementation, integration/onboarding, on-orbit testing, and operations of ESPAStar vehicles to/for the customer

Technical leader for the MSIE team, and also serves as a technical advisor to the program manager

Lead the development and execution of technical reviews to achieve efficient, effective, and innovative engineering solutions

Technical point-of-contact to the customer, providing timely communication and engaging to resolve technical questions posed by the customer

Deliver quick and thorough resolution of non-conformances and other challenges that might arise, including leading failure/anomaly investigations and presentation of findings to internal and external review boards

Coordinates across the product lines’ MSIE team as well as the vehicle engineering teams

Regularly takes a leadership role in providing insight and knowledge transfer to others on internal and external technical solutions to solve complex problems

Ensures that all engineering teams adhere to sound engineering processes, in accordance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline

14+ Years with Bachelors in Science; 12+ Years with Masters;

Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams or previous Chief Engineer experience

Experience in mission systems development, integration, and test 

Ability to effectively interface with program leadership, functional management, customers, and technical subject matter experts

Must have US Citizenship with active or current TS/SCI Clearance at time of application

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in STEM or technical management

Domain expertise in space mission, space-related ground, spacecraft and/or space systems

Primary Level Salary Range: $162,500.00 - $243,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
