Schwab Asset Management (SAM) is the asset management arm of the Charles Schwab Corporation and has over $1.6 Trillion assets under management in mutual funds, ETFs and separately managed account strategies. Products managed include a wide variety of active and indexed equity, fixed income, asset allocation strategies, and money markets funds. SAM uses a consistent and disciplined approach to investing across all our products and seeks to develop innovative new products to meet the core investing needs of our clients. The SAM Investment Risk Team quantifies and reports on the investment risk of more than 493 different investment portfolios and strategies.
The Senior Specialist on the SAM Index and Active Equity Investment Products and Solutions Team will contribute to the strategic efforts that drive client adoption of Schwab passive equity investment products, including exchange-traded funds (ETFS), mutual funds, and separately managed accounts (SMAs). This individual will assist in developing strong analytical guidance and competitive insights, that will help to evolve and expand the current product offering. The Senior Specialist will assist to ensure data and industry insights are accurate, timely, and aligned with our business objectives. Overtime, this person will need to develop a strong, forward-looking point of view around competitive pressures, as well as what improvements are most relevant to our clients. The Senior Specialist will work closely with key business partners to deliver effective and meaningful execution of ideas.
Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
Providing creative insights to improve data and competitive reportingPartnering with others to optimize, streamline, and scale operations to provide more timely delivery of insightful communicationsFamiliar with how to analyze the impact of communications and post-launch reports and resultsEvolve and improve our ability to provide meaningful and impactful communications to both our internal partners and external clientsWork collaboratively with teams across Schwab to ensure messaging and positioning for products is consistentSupporting RFPs and consultant database requestsEngage in research on funds, industry, and competitive trendsPresent numerical data effectively using Excel tables and graphs What you haveRequired Qualifications:
2+ years relevant strategy, data analytics, competitive analysis, or product management experienceStrong analytical and data analysis skillsStrong Microsoft Office skills, including VBA experience and comfort building and working with macros Highly organized and detail-orientatedSolid understanding of financial markets, including a robust knowledge of ETFsKnowledge of the competitive landscape in the financial services industry, especially as it relates to asset management and related product solutionsSolid project management skills, successfully working in a cross-functional capacity to design and implement a project approach and deliver on stated outcomesStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive, collaborative relationships across a broad array of functional areasStrong communication skills, comfort creating presentations to business partnersFlexibility and comfort working with ambiguity and adapting to changeCurious with a can-do attitude and the ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex, dynamic environmentPreferred Qualifications:
Comfort working with various database across multiple providers Experience in marketing or strategic analysis, within financial servicesProactively confronts challenges and can make tough choices while confidently communicating difficult messages with transparency and candorIn addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
