Job Title: Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in strategic sourcing and risk management, supplier quality and performance, procurement, supply continuity, and contract management. This position requires a dedicated professional with extensive experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, particularly in sectors such as biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical devices.

Responsibilities

Identify critical materials and high-risk suppliers and support the development of risk mitigation plans.Partner with suppliers to establish performance expectations, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.Collaborate with Supply Chain Planning to support supply plans and ensure risk mitigation strategies remain current.Escalate supply or business risks appropriately to management.Support business case development for capacity expansion or supplier changes as needed.Utilize continuous improvement tools to drive process and cost efficiencies.Support supplier qualification, material qualification, and ongoing supplier performance management activities.Partner with Quality to ensure compliance with material specifications, incoming inspection, and regulatory requirements.Participate in supplier risk assessments and mitigation planning.Maintain and support Approved Supplier List (ASL) processes.Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Planning to resolve supplier-related performance issues.Ensure continuity of component and material supply for assigned categories.Address supply shortages and escalations in collaboration with site procurement, quality, and engineering teams.Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to support timely fulfillment of business needs.Represent procurement in cross-functional meetings as needed.Support inventory optimization, forecasting alignment, and logistics coordination.Consolidate and communicate supplier forecasts to assigned suppliers.Support negotiation and execution of supplier agreements and amendments.Ensure supplier compliance with contractual, quality, technical, and regulatory requirements.Evaluate new and alternate suppliers and support qualification processes.Review and validate contract data, pricing, invoices, and related documentation.Support RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes.Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.7+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, supplier management, or sourcing within a regulated manufacturing environment.Experience managing supplier relationships, negotiations, and performance improvement initiatives.Strong understanding of supply risk management, forecasting, and capacity planning.Familiarity with quality systems and regulatory environments such as ISO and cGMP.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Experience with ERP systems and MS Office tools.Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Lean, Six Sigma, APICS (CPIM/CPM), or related certification preferred.Experience supporting new product introductions or supplier transfers preferred.Experience in global sourcing environments preferred.

Work Environment

This position operates in an office environment, working five days a week from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. You will work within a medical device company and collaborate with multiple departments, including supply chain, quality, and project management teams. The role offers direct placement, room for growth, and opportunities to lead initiatives and advance within the organization.

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
