The Routing and Planning team, part of Amazon’s Last Mile Technology (LMT) organization, builds software systems that power Amazon’s logistics network by enabling route, station, and capacity planning at scale. These systems help operations teams efficiently plan and execute deliveries across the network.

Within this organization, the Routing and Planning Technology team develops systems that estimate the infrastructure required to meet delivery demand, including stations, vehicles, drivers, and routes. Our solutions prioritize driver safety while ensuring a seamless last-mile experience for customers. By leveraging advanced AI/ML technologies, the team enables new ultra-fast delivery capabilities, expands operations into new geographies, optimizes cost to serve, seamlessly integrates pickup workflows, and continuously improves delivery speed and efficiency.

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) with strong technical expertise and experience building scalable distributed systems. In this role, you will work on initiatives that determine optimal routing strategies and leverage AI/ML technologies to generate efficient last-mile delivery plans used across Amazon’s delivery network. You will help shape the technical and architectural direction of the systems and contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including problem scoping, system design, implementation, testing, and production support.

The Routing and Planning Technology team is one of the critical teams supporting and enabling Last Mile operations for Amazon Worldwide. The services help estimate the precise number of stations, vehicles, drivers and routes to deliver billions of packages to customers worldwide and have a high impact on cost as well as deliver efficiency.
