Sr Scientist – Flow Cytometry, client dedicated

Thermo Fisher Scientific are currently hiring for a Sr Scientist to join a GCP laboratory testing samples from clinical trials using spectral Flow Cytometry. The role will be based at our client’s site in Stevenage, UK and requires a Flow Cytometry expert to predominantly utilize the Cytek Aurora to generate data and perform data analysis using OMIQ software.
Role responsibilities
Performs complex sample preparation and Flow Cytometry to test clinical samples, using both manual and automated stepsIsolating PBMCSets up and maintains analytical instrumentation.Keeps reagent inventories up to date and accurateContemporaneous recording of work in electronic lab notebooks.Plans and organizes work with periodic supervision.Trains on routine operation, maintenance and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs and regulatory procedures and guidelines.Ensures QA findings are addressed appropriately.Provides assistance and training to other team members.Communicates project status to project leader.Performs work assignments accurately, and in a timely and safe manner.Reviews, interprets, and analyzes data using OMIQ softwarePerforms self and peer review of data for accuracy and complianceEducation / Experience:
BSc Honours degree and/or Masters in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biomedical Science or related discipline.Masters/PhD in Immunology with strong computational element highly beneficial5+ years’ experience solely in Flow Cytometry, ideally spectral cytometry (25+ colour panels preferred, 18+ colours acceptable),In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven experience with Cytek Aurora or Cytek Northern Lights or Sony ID7000.Experience with OMIQ/Cytolution/FlowJo analysis software.Experience of computational analysis of flow cytometry data (UMAP, tSNE, FlowSOM) highly desirableUse of automation both in the lab and for analysis preferredProven problem solving and troubleshooting abilitiesGood written and oral communication skills with fluency in EnglishTime management and project management skillsAbility to work in a collaborative work environment with a teamBenefits
