Sr Quality Engineer

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Sr Quality Engineer.
**What you’ll do:**
Provide quality engineering support for Arecibo manufacturing operations, focusing on daily quality performance, root‑cause elimination, and continuous improvement. Work with Operations, cross‑functional teams, and suppliers to ensure stable processes, strong control plans, and reliable product performance. Manage corrective actions, quality controls (PFMEA, Control Plans), data collection (TDM/FAS), and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead projects to improve plant indicators such as scrap, DPPM, warranty, capacity, and safety, using A3 documentation and monitoring High 5 metrics. Supervise Quality personnel and manage inventories for inspection and non‑conforming materials.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Support daily operations, resolve line issues, and drive corrective actions.
2. Identify and implement manufacturing quality improvements.
3. Maintain quality lab layouts and equipment.
4. Develop and update work instructions and visual aids.
5. Evaluate and disposition nonconformances.
6. Train and certify operators and inspectors.
7. Implement Lessons Learned visual aids.
8. Support MCO/ECO documentation changes.
9. Manage PPAP processes.
10. Select inspection tools and equipment.
11. Prepare and manage capital budgets/projects for quality equipment.
12. Create/buy special tools for new parts.
13. Maintain 5S in labs and non‑conforming areas.
14. Lead Lean/Kaizen events.
15. Monitor processes and apply problem‑solving tools.
16. Use Six Sigma/ MSA for improvements.
17. Drive scrap reduction and FPY/yield improvements.
18. Conduct safety analysis and support MESH initiatives.
19. Close CAPAs (8D) promptly.
20. Support internal and external audits.
21. Supervise technicians/inspectors and manage payroll/vacations.
22. Maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA data, inspection standards.
23. Assess non‑conforming material.
24. Approve deviations/TCRs.
25. Provide feedback and formalize issues using CAPA/CQM/DMR.
26. Approve supplier and internal PPAPs \#LI-KL1
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
+ Minimum 3 years of experience supporting manufacturing operations and enviroment.
+ At least 1 year of experience supervising, leading and developing personnel.
+ Strong background & knowledge in Quality tools and processes.
+ Exposure to support of internal/external audits.
+ Fully Bilingual – English\Spanish Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Knowledge of MS windows operating systems, MS Office & Statistical software
PLUS: Minitab, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing

**Skills:**
+ Developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods and processes to reduce scrap, improve yields and internal and external DPPMs.
+ Analyzing and planning work force utilization.
+ Support on CI projects
+ Development and implementation of manufacturing instructions.
+ Support to new production parts integrations.
+ Provide guidance for the proper selection of manufacturing equipment and tools.
+ Identification and selection of new technology to improve quality and performance.
+ Proactive attitude towards problem solving and resolving issues that may affect plant/ employee’s health, safety, and operations.
