Job Title: Sr. Promotion Analyst
Essential Function
The Sr. Promo Analyst is responsible to provide strategic promotional recommendations through analysis and execution of Strategic Promotional Effectiveness across SBH. Exceptionally strong communication and analytical skills are required, along with a focus on detailed execution of processes. This position will work across Merchandising, Marketing, Stores and the Information Systems teams. This position reports into the corporate office in North Texas on Tuesdays and Weds of each week, so this is not a remote role.

Primary Duties
30% Promotional Effectiveness Analysis:
Work with Merchants and IT to create and maintain a repository of historical promotions financial performance, trends associated tactics.Develop and manage processes to identify and measure actual promo volume, discount depth, promo types, support vehicles, basket, # trips vendor funding.Construct a baseline calculation process and update as promo periods are cycled through.Capture marketing/shopping guide features, ads and placements for promo periods.40% Promo Period Planning :
Help manage promo planning deliverables across teams and accuracy of information submitted.Lead category and vendor performance reviews to make recommendations on which types of promotions and tactics to be tested and built into plans.Create promotional scenario modeling to forecasting to estimate the performance ROI of promotions being planned.Evaluate effectiveness of promo strategy rules, identify opportunities and make recommendations for future promo planning.20% Post Promotional Verification:
Work with merchandising and store ops to develop promo verification to measure actual results of a current promotional period against forecast and goalsBuild drillable reporting on promotions to provide insights and recommendations on actions that should be taken10% Promo projects as identified by supervisorKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum of Formal education:
Bachelors Degree required, MBA preferred.Area of Study:
Marketing, Business, Finance, Statistics.Technical Skills:
Advanced ExcelSkilled in BI & Visualization Tools ( Power BI/ Tableau)Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.Familiarity with Alteryx tool.Exposure to Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure Preferred).Prior experience with Databricks is a plus.
Type of experience the job requires:
5-7 years of retail analytical experience preferred.Merchandising or Marketing analysis experience a preferred with previous exposure to trade funds and promotional planning.Strong skills in using BI/analytical tools along with willingness to learning new solutions.Previous work with promotional effectiveness software solutions.Other:
