Sr Program Manager, Fleet Innovation, Global Fleet & Products
Description Do you want to be part of the foundational team driving innovation and efficiency in Amazon's last mile fleet operations? The Fleet Operations and Capacity Management team is seeking a motivated Senior Program Manager to be a core member of the Variable Fleet team. In this role, you will manage end-to-end variable fleet capacity supply and execution during high-volume events across Amazon's U.S. and Canadian delivery network. As the Senior Program Manager for Variable Fleet Programs and Innovation, you will lead strategic initiatives that shape the future of Amazon's variable fleet operations. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can develop and execute the 2026+ roadmap while managing new program launches from concept to implementation. You will drive innovation across multiple dimensions including technology integration, fleet diversification, and long-term rental concepts. Key job responsibilities - Develop and execute new initiatives and strategic roadmaps that extend beyond 2026, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives - Lead end-to-end program management for new fleet concepts, from planning through execution and optimization - Drive technology integrations including Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), reporting systems, dashboards, and RAVE implementations - Define technical requirements and manage pilot programs for emerging fleet technologies - Expand fleet capabilities through new vehicle types including Electric Vehicle (EV) rentals, All-Wheel Drive (AWD) options, long-term rentals, and Netradyne in Rentals, create new policies. Create and implement a long-term branded rental concept for RSR and ZL operations - Lead post-peak analysis sessions, drive completion of action items, and establish cross-functional ownership of improvement initiatives This role requires exceptional program management skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence across multiple stakeholder groups to drive innovation in Amazon's variable fleet operations. A day in the life You will review key fleet metrics and program dashboards. You will lead strategic planning sessions for new fleet initiatives and cross-functional meetings with technology, operations, and partner teams. You will analyze pilot program data and refine implementation timelines. You will collaborate with GFPA on fleet expansion strategies, reviewing technical requirements with development teams, and addressing escalations. You regularly balance immediate operational needs with long-term innovation planning, communicating progress to leadership and ensuring alignment across stakeholder groups. About the team The Variable Fleet (VF) team secures third-party rental vehicles for Amazon's Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) at optimal locations, times, and costs. Our mission is to provide flexible vehicle capacity that ensures business continuity across all Amazon's last-mile operations. We manage relationships with Preferred Rental Providers (PRPs), implement the Amazon Direct Rental (ADR) program, and develop innovative fleet solutions. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of program or project management experience - Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements - Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership - Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship - Experience leading process improvements Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of driving process improvements experience - Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field - Experience in program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, or a related field - Experience working with technology teams and solving operational issues using technology - Experience managing external vendors, distributors, partners or learning providers - Experience in transportation operations and industry knowledge - Background in last-mile delivery operations or experience working with Delivery Service Partner teams Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
