Sr Program Manager, Contingency Response Center (CRC) - Brazil Operations, Transportation Planning
Description Amazon Brazil Operations is seeking an experienced leader to own and operate the Contingency Response Center (CRC) across all mile operations in the country. This role is responsible for end-to-end readiness, rapid response, and recovery planning across all delivery channels and node types, ensuring business continuity, customer promise protection, and network resilience. The CRC Leader drives mid- and long-term contingency planning while also leading real-time response execution for disruptions across pick-up, sortation, and delivery operations. The role has country-level scope across all miles and partners closely with Operations, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Middle Mile, S&OP, and Planning teams to anticipate risk, build capacity buffers, and activate mitigation plans when needed. This leader owns the command-center operating model, defining escalation mechanisms, decision frameworks, and playbooks for peak, weather events, capacity shortfalls, partner instability, and systemic failures. They provide critical inputs into 3-Year Plans, OP1, OP2, and peak readiness planning, ensuring contingency assumptions are embedded into long-term network strategy. To be successful, the candidate must operate comfortably across mile leaders and tactical execution, translate complex operational data into clear decisions for senior leadership, and lead cross-functional teams through ambiguity and high-pressure situations. Strong hands-on operations experience is essential; prior logistics or last-mile experience is highly valued. Key job responsibilities - Work with Transports Planning and Supply Chain teams to capture and align on demand signals, understanding and sanity checking assumptions; - Support team on calculating, based on existing methodologies and systems, the operational requirements to operate the volume in the last mile (volume per Delivery station, required number of routes, required labor , required infra-structure, productivity metrics); - Publish volume plans to key internal stakeholders, capture resource commitments from such teams to evaluate potential capacity gaps, following up on solve plans for such gaps; - Lead calls and coordinate action items and follow-up on critical topics related to balancing capacity and demand in the last mile space; - Represent LM Capacity Planning in daily calls to provide planning updates and take action items, delegating and prioritizing such actions with internal teams. - Work on and deploy process and systems improvements in the last mile planning scope, benchmarking on state-of-the-art processes, working with product and internal teams to deploy such improvements About the team Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is Amazon's "Last Mile" delivery service, responsible for delivering packages (and smiles) to homes and businesses across the planet. Within AMZL Brazil, the Planning & Expansion (P&E) team overlooks 3 main areas in support to AMZL´s operation and growth: (1) Jurisdiction planning and management, driving the growth and optimization of our delivery/pick-up coverage and topology; (2) Capacity planning, ensuring adequate capacity in short/medium/long term to maximize attainment of volume within AMZL´s jurisdiction; and (3) Expansion initiatives, coordinating local efforts on “big rock” projects that enable new types of operations, new sales and delivery channels, modes of transport (Fleet types, micromobility) and end-to-end programmatic coordination of AMZL´s network expansion.
