The Sr. Program Manager is an integral member of the Public Sector Core team which sits within the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). The Public Sector Core team is responsible for accelerating the revenue and growth of partners working with Public Sector customers around the globe.
In this global role, you will own the management and operation of a highly-visible program designed to accelerate our strategic Distribution Channel partners, their downstream sellers, and their end customers. This role requires you to work seamlessly with the central Channel Programs team in ASP while influencing across a set of senior stakeholders in Public Sector Partner Sales, AWS Legal, Finance, and Technical teams. In contrast, you will be the single-threaded owner of the go-to-market strategy for the Distribution program in Public Sector, ensuring the program meets the needs and special requirements of Public Sector Distributors. You will do this by earning trust based on your high business judgement, ability to dive deep, and to think big and long-term while delivering results.
The ideal candidate is experienced in program/project management, defining a program roadmap and strategy, nurturing cross functional relationships, reporting and distilling business insights, communicating to a variety of audiences, and highly organized. You must have the ability and initiative to understand complex business needs and solve them with programs. You must thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as the program manager lead for the Public Sector Distribution program.
- Own annual goals and performance reporting for the program.
- Manage and operationalize processes including program recruitment, adoption, reporting, feature roadmap, and problem resolution.
- Manage and operationalize program policies, exceptions, and deal support.
- Work directly with AWS Public Sector Distribution partner teams to implement, operate, and deliver against program deliverables.
- Conduct stakeholder and SME interviews to determine, recommend, and document project needs and resource requirements.
- Perform partner needs and task analysis and evaluate existing processes to support revenue goals
A day in the life
A typical day will be a mix of the strategic and getting stuff done. You will be continuously calibrating whether we have the right mix of enablement, benefits, and policies to achieve our long-term goals of growing AWS' channel. You will do this by analyzing market information, AWS data, channel resell performance, programmatic performance, and guiding the overall resell strategy. You will provide strategic recommendations to accelerate performance, streamline programs, invent new initiatives to address unmet needs, influence the roadmap priorities, and execute against a strategic plan. You will spend time preparing and delivering business reviews to the AWS senior management team along with your recommendations against the strategy and forward-looking plans of the business. You will also build and maintain direct relationships with senior leaders of AWS's most strategic channel partners.
