**Job Overview**
TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements
**Essential Functions**
• Creates relationships with internal & external customer innovators and influencers.
• Coordinates and facilitates technical engineering-related communications for internal & external customers.
• Defines, coordinates, and drives the scouting of alternative technologies to traditional Stamping and Molding manufacturing methods (often with Sector-wide visibility).
• Develops business-relevant innovative solutions as part of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Development Roadmap (MTR).
• Creates or controls the process design standard for innovative manufacturing technology used by other engineers.
• Contributes key elements to the technical roadmap of the Digital Data Networks (DDN) Technology Development Organization.
• Provides high-level engineering solutions to support technical requirements overcoming processes capability limitations involving extremely tight tolerances and rigorous product requirements.
• Leads DDN manufacturing technology development initiatives and small teams of professionals.
• Impacts DDN level technology and product decisions by interacting with AST and ADT to identify projects for innovation derived from market technology and system architecture trends.
• Drives innovation and execution to increase competitiveness.
• Builds a culture of agile adapting that responds to environmental changes.
• Provides guidance and complex subject matter training to less experienced co-workers inside/outside of the department.
• Mentors and coaches other engineers.
• Provides input to management on accomplishing long-term goals and objectives.
• Exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
• Responsible for adhering to budgets.

• Bachelor’s Degree (Mechanical Engineering or related) with 12+ years of experience required, or Masters with 10+ years of experience, or PHD level with 6+ years of experience.
• High level of competency in advanced manufacturing technologies and understanding of robotics, automation, vision systems, sensors, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• High level of competency in data analysis and process optimization with experience extracting valuable insights from data, applying statistical methods, and developing meaningful breakthrough technologies/capabilities.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software like CREO or similar for creating/manipulating complex part/tool models.
• Solid understanding of competitive products and IP positions.
• Skilled in working on complex technical issues with ability to communicate them clearly to management, customers, and technical community.
• Deep knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, Six Sigma, DOE, 8D/Continuous Improvement).
• Fluent in English (read, write, and speak).
• Extensive experience in production technologies and process innovations for precision stamping/molding is a plus!
• Experience with single-digit micron tolerances for electrical connectors and sockets is a plus!
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to clearly convey complex technical information to diverse audiences and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong project management skills (PMI PM process model) to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects.
• Practical application of MS Office software (Word, Excel, PPT, Project, & Outlook).
• Based in China-Shanghai or Qingdao TE sites and willingness to travel up to 25% average.
