The Sr Porfolio Manager - Project Finance will lead regular construction fundings within the Distributed Generation Project Finance portfolio, execution of routine deal modification credit requests, leading occasional deal upsizes, Credit monitoring of assigned deals, control functions associated with Portfolio Management with a view to identifying potential credit issues early while also maintaining and growing the client relationship, and serving in the role as Administrative Agent on deals.  In this role, you will have ownership of your own deal relationships and will act as a mentor to junior deal team members.


Responsibilities

Supporting the portfolio management team, including leading monthly diligence and draws on construction loans, leading all work on amendment and waiver requests, leading deal upsizes and extensions for existing deals, and assisting in preparing for and responding to internal and external audits.Acting as Administrative Agent on a number of deals, coordinating communication of construction fundings, deal modifications, and monitoring between the Borrower, Lenders’ Legal Counsel, Syndicate Banks, and back office functions.  Perform Agent duties that require active communication with the various external parties, attend meetings and conference calls with Lenders and clients, and act as point person for Syndicate banks.Proactively manage all aspects of regular Distributed Generation construction fundings, which require high-touch work with legal counsel, Borrowers, and syndicate bank groups in order to close deal fundings on a regular basis.  Leading diligence, structuring, and analysis of deal modification requests by demonstrating a good sense of the request with attention to credit quality and risk mitigation.  Manage the approval process for lending commitments, amendments, waivers, and consents, including making recommendations to Credit Executives and assuring that client timeframes and relationship are attended to.Perform financial modeling to review and analyze projections for construction fundings and deal modifications; interpret model results and create summaries to be used in internal and external documents.Continuously monitor the ongoing performance of the portfolio of borrowers and track covenant compliance with a view to identifying deteriorating situations early.Help preparation for quarterly and annual reviews of loan portfolio, maintain borrower monthly/quarterly/annual reporting requirements, internal credit procedures are kept current, and other ad hoc projects are successfully completed.  Present deals to credit committees for review as appropriate.Maintain borrower credit files, financial files, legal documents, and other relevant information in an organized and timely manner.Interact and coordinate administrative matters with other internal departments (i.e. Loan Boarding, Operations, Agency, Liquidity Management, Syndications, and others).Ensure compliance with all Know Your Customer (“KYC”) and other banking regulations.Prepare white papers on assigned industry segments, as requested.Perform internal reporting duties and control administrative and operational matters cooperating with back office.Actively participate in client calling initiatives related to portfolio relationships, working with Relationship Managers and Product Partners as well as conducts periodic independent site visits to assess management, business conditions, and build rapport with existing clients.Mentors junior professionals.General assistance, as directed, with the growth of the business, including research into new potential business areas and financial structures, attendance and representation at industry events, and other related special projects.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Credit Analysis, Relationship Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Credit Analysis, Relationship Management

Bachelors Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering3 years of Project Finance, Energy Finance within the commercial or investment banking, tax equity, investing, deveopement or buy-sidePortfolio Management, Asset Management, Investment, Credit Analysis, Underwriting OR OriginationsCompletion of a formal credit training program preferred

 

Other:

 

Strong analytical and quantitative skills.Experience in project finance financial modeling, presentations, and drafting underwriting/investment memoranda and credit documentation, reviewing contracts and project materials, and bank operational processes.Strong ability to recognize and communicate transaction risks and mitigants.Experience negotiating deal legal documentation.  Ability to effectively, tactfully, and professionally communicate with customers, officers and other bank personnel.Strong attention to detail in both qualitative and quantitative work.Demonstrated tenacity and patience for problem solving.Capacity to effectively organize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Strong, proactive oral and written communication skills.Experience and passion to work on cutting edge energy or infrastructure related financing transactions.Demonstrated ability to work remotely effectively and manage/prioritize multiple streams of workflow simultaneously. If hired in New York or California the base pay for this position is generally between $135,000.00 and $160,000.00. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
