Summary:
The PMO Manager, IT Service Governance, is a key leadership role responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining a robust IT service governance and compliance framework. This role ensures operational stability and drives service delivery transformation by embedding strong governance practices, ensuring adherence to regulatory and contractual obligations, and aligning IT services with business objectives. A critical aspect of this role is ensuring compliance with international and local standards such as ISO 27001, ISO9001 and relevant government regulations, while promoting continuous improvement and accountability across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Governance & Compliance Frameworks – Develop, implement, and maintain IT governance and compliance frameworks that ensure alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.Standards & Certifications – Drive compliance with international and local standards such as ITIL, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and relevant government regulations, ensuring successful certification and ongoing adherence.Audit & Risk Management – Oversee internal and external audit processes, coordinate remediation plans, and ensure timely closure of findings. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to IT service delivery and transformation.Policy & Process Assurance – Define, document, and enforce policies, procedures, and controls to ensure consistent and compliant IT service delivery across projects and operations.Stakeholder Engagement – Serve as the governance focal point with clients, regulators, and internal leadership, ensuring transparency, accountability, and confidence in IT services.Continuous Improvement – Drive compliance-based service delivery initiatives, embedding a culture of accountability and operational excellence across delivery teams.Reporting & Metrics – Establish and monitor compliance and governance metrics, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to senior leadership and external stakeholders.Knowledge & Awareness – Promote awareness and understanding of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) principles across the organization through training, communication, and leadership guidance.Leadership and Collaboration:
Lead and guide project management professionals in embedding governance, compliance, and reporting disciplines across delivery initiatives.Build strong partnerships with business leaders, delivery teams, and vendor partners to ensure programs and projects remain aligned with organizational priorities, contractual obligations, and customer expectations.Influence and engage senior management by providing structured governance insights, compliance updates, and progress reports on service delivery and performance.Stay current on regulatory requirements, governance frameworks, and industry best practices in project and portfolio management, leveraging these to strengthen compliance and enhance organizational resilience.Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced certifications in project management or governance (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, COBIT, ITIL, ISO Lead Auditor) are highly desirable.More than 10 years of experience in IT service delivery and governance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role driving service transformation, compliance, and governance initiatives.Demonstrated success in developing and implementing IT governance frameworks, compliance models, and delivery programs in large or complex environments.Experience working in the Public Sector, with familiarity in government service governance models, audit requirements, and regulatory compliance obligations.Knowledge of cloud (AWS, Azure), network, Linux, Wintel, and VMware environments), with the ability to govern cross-functional delivery teams effectively.Key Competencies
