Sr Manufacturing Manager - Operation Management
**Job Description Summary** Unison is the leading provider of differentiated engine controls, accessories, and performance monitoring solutions in the Aerospace, Defense & Space segments. Serving both original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers, Unison designs, manufactures and supplies the most advanced components and systems in the world. As a Sr Manufacturing Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the service repair station within the Jacksonville manufacturing plant, ensuring reliability and consistency across the production line. You will take ownership of budgets and operating plans, working with cross-functional teams to drive results. Guided by operating policies, you will have autonomy within your operational area or a segment of a larger business unit. Your leadership may have a significant impact on a small business unit or a functional family within a P&L. To succeed, you will need strong evaluative judgment and operational expertise to deliver outcomes effectively. **Job Description** **Roles and Responsibilities** + Manage an operation, business, unit, or part of a production facility in order to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards. Team management of salaried employees. This includes production supervisors who oversee hourly employees. + Developing expertise in own function. May include roles that are experts in their discipline, providing professional or thought leadership . Influences policy and ensures delivery within area of responsibility, linking with other parts of the organization.Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process. + Leads others to find creative solutions within complex manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Employs sophisticated operational/product management, manufacturing or engineering techniques. Interaction with adjacent functions needed to solve issues. Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision. + May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Presents business or technical discipline solutions to leaders. Communicates complex messages and negotiates mainly internally with others to adopt a different point of view. Influences peers to take action and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of experience within Manufacturing, Engineering, and/or Commercial Experience.) + Minimum of 5 years experience in within Manufacturing, Engineering, and/or Commercial. **Desired Characteristics** + Strong oral and written communication skills. + Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. + Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. + Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. + Established project management skills. + Prior aerospace repair or overhaul experience _This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
