Sr Manufacturing Engineer

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Sr Manufacturing Engineer.
**What you’ll do:**
**PRIMARY FUNCTION:**
Develop and implement grinding manufacturing processes for new products and continuous improvement.
Support production activities.
Analyze problems and supervise corrections related to machine capability and production rates (OEE). Maintain and improve current manufacturing processes to produce parts according to specification.
Actively participate in the continuous improvement processes of the plant and implement cost-savings in manufacturing to reduce waste including corrective actions that lead to an immediate impact to business results. Reduce high-risk priority numbers in manufacturing PFMEA´s.
Train and educate operators to optimize use of new and transferred equipment. Initiate and maintain process sheets for each step of the manufacturing process.
Support PROLaunch by participating in aspects related to manufacturing of new released components or assemblies; review and evaluate new products, processes, equipment and facility proposal; execute installation, runoff, and startup of transferred and new equipment. Complete runoffs and PPAP´s on time according to established schedules.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**

Actively participate or champion in the continuous improvement process of the plant and implement costsavings in manufacturing to reduce waste including corrective actions to make an immediate impact to business results. Reduce high-risk priority numbers in manufacturing PFMEA´s.
Champion key initiatives for the plant and utilize EBS to achieve plant goals. Implement ELS tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Setup Reduction, 5s, etc.
Train and inform cell technicians on current process techniques and new manufacturing concepts. Train and educate operators to optimize use of new and transferred equipment. Initiate and maintain process sheets for each step of the manufacturing process.
Support PROLaunch - Participating in aspects related to manufacturing of new released components or assemblies. Review and evaluate new products, processes equipment and facility proposal. Lead and execute installation, runoff, and startup of transferred and new equipment. Complete runoffs and PPAP´s on time according to established schedules.
Define max/min supply of all related items to equipment, such as spare parts and other supplies.
Comply with requirements of the Quality System.
**Additional Information:**
Incorporate Safety into 5s activities. Update EHS Risk analysis for departments. Upgrade Machine guarding in Fabrication. Include EHS changes in Future state VSM. Identify and Direct Lean EHS Project. See attachment for more details
Champion multi-disciplinary teams in activities related to manufacturing issues
Lead, facilitate and coordinate production activities and resources according to established proactive and/or policies within their job area to ensure the timely delivery or quality parts that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Define SPC control chart to control process for operation required. Apply corrective actions plan for Nonconformances detected in SPC data. MonitorSPC data capability and define actions to keep control of the process.
Although the organization was able to provide support that all SPQs for administrative positions have included the roles and responsibilities for CI there was evidence that just some of the shop floor specific positions and manufacturing support functions clearly specify CI roles and responsibilities, the plant must ensure that 100% of the positions include the CI roles and responsibilities and define the best way to communicate on regular basis to the related personnel so this enables the organization additional attention and involvement to support to the CI initiatives.
**Qualifications:**
**SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:**
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic
2. 5 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering environment, Grinding Area
3. Demonstrated knowledge and training in automation, error proofing techniques
4. Full Experience in Cincinnati, Koyo & Nova ID/OD grinders
5. Programming Fanuc and Siemens
6. OD/ID grinding wheels
7. Experience conducting multidisciplinary teams.
8. Quality basics such as statistical process control, capability studies and gage R&R´s
9. Skills at interpreting mechanical drawings and basic use of CAD systems.
10. Knowledge of machinery functions (hydraulic, electrical, mechanical operations)
11. Background or experience in quality basics such as statistical process control, capability studies and MSA studies.
12. English language at a conversational level required.
13. Green Belt (Six Sigma) would be a plus
14. Oracle knowledge focuses in Manufacturing Processes.
**Attachment (Detailed Responsibilities)**
1. Drives and promotes zero incident EHS culture throughout site.
2. Accomplish with MESH requirements: EHS programs, waste requirements, training, inspections, etc.
3. Participate EHS Gemba Walks / Inspections / Programs
4. Creates and facilitates EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
5. Submit Kaizen Burst ideas to Improve Safety
6. Lead a team to evaluate and rank the plant’s top ergonomic risks
7. EHS Cost Out & Avoidance: Hazardous waste, Non HW, Water consumption, energy savings, etc
8. Incorporate EHS into LEAN (VSM, 5S, TPM, etc)
9. Work with site leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.
10. Identify and Direct Lean EHS Project
11. Completion of Root Cause Analysis & CAPA for significant injuries/illnesses/ EHS incidents
