As the Head of industrialization (Internal Title: Sr Manager, Industrialization) for our electronic devices, you will have deep expertise in electronic technologies, proven leadership, and a relentless drive for success. You will lead PMI Electronics Operations’ NPI and Industrialization teams. You will drive cross-functional, risk-managed NPI project execution with external partners, fully integrated with PMO processes.
You will oversee the industrialization of electronic devices through EVT, DVT, and PVT phases, ensuring delivery of cost-effective, high-quality products at speed throughout their lifecycle. You will lead Product Services and Specifications Management, acting as the subject matter expert for PMI’s Industrialization and NPI.
This role operates across ODM, JDM, and CM business models, requiring strategic vision and hands-on execution to deliver best-in-class solutions.
Your “Day to Day”:
Strategy Definition & Implementation: Provide critical input to the articulation and implementation of PMI Electronics Operations strategy, specifically in industrialization and NPI (New Product Introduction), ensuring compliance with company policies and legal/regulatory requirements.NPI Project Management: Manage NPI projects from concept/prototype builds through launch and production ramps. Drive cross-functional and cross-geographic teams to develop schedules, track progress, and ensure new products are brought to market on time with optimal quality, performance, cost, and volumes. Manage Capex budgets and propose mitigation options to senior management.Industrialization: Lead the industrialization of critical components (excluding batteries) to reach mass production stage. Develop new manufacturing processes, define and implement tooling management and test/automation strategies, and oversee deployment at EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services).People Management: Develop and lead a highly motivated, high-performing team across Hong Kong and China. Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and drive a culture of innovation, quality, and speed-to-market.Stakeholder Management: Build strong alignment with Product Category Management, Project Management Office, and Electronics Engineering. Ensure integration with EMS Operations, Sustaining Engineering, and Reverse Operations, and maintain strong partnerships with EMSs and T2 suppliers.
Who we are looking for:
University Master’s degree (Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Electronics or related field) or equivalent. MBA is an asset.Highly experienced working in a complex, volatile business environment with international exposure, preferably in Global Electronics Goods or Medical Devices.Proven track record in NPI management, electronics engineering & manufacturing, product development, project management, and supplier relationship management. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a multi-cultural environment.Strong business acumen, electronics engineering & manufacturing, product development, financial and commercial knowledge.Strategic agility, organizational savvy, and entrepreneurship. High intellectual horsepower and complex problem-solving skills.Effective communicator at all levels, able to make strategic contributions.Drive for results through sustainable partnerships and collaboration.Consumer-centric, forward-leaning, innovative, and people-focused.Fluent in English; good command of Chinese highly desirable.
