General Summary:
As a member of the Human Resources team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping HR initiatives and projects that deliver services for our business partners across Qualcomm.
The HR Consultant will serve as a partner providing responsive, high-touch HR consultation on a wide range of people-related matters. This role is designed to address ad hoc, ambiguous, or complex requests that fall outside the scope of transactional HR services and require diagnostic thinking, coaching, and strategic guidance.
Provide situational coaching and consultative support on topics such as team cohesion and engagement, talent development, talent retention, organizational design and organizational change.Triage and route issues to appropriate HR Communities of Practice (e.g., ECE, Total Rewards, Talent, ER) when specialized expertise is required.Partner with HRBPs to ensure alignment with broader talent strategies and to escalate systemic issues or trends.Capture and analyze consultation data to identify trends, inform HR service improvements, and enhance the employee experience.Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR delivery by identifying gaps in service and proposing scalable solutions.Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of HR-related work experience.OR
Associate's degree and 5+ years of HR-related work experience.
OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of HR-related work experience.
*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Humanities, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in multiple areas: recruiting, sourcing, talent development, organizational development, compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, employee recognition, communication, engagement and retention.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leverages fundamental knowledge of a broad range of HR areas (e.g., compensation, employee relations, training and development), HR policies, procedures, and best practices to deliver services and resolve moderately complex HR-related issues.
• Collaborates and develops effective working relationships with immediate team members, global HR teams, and senior HRBPs to align on business and HR-related goals for successful implementation and execution.
• Leverages a comprehensive understanding of applicable local and federal employment laws (e.g., wages, hours, labor), team and business goals and requirements, and industry trends to support the region for multiple workstreams.
• Analyzes, interprets, and verifies moderately complex HR metrics using dashboards and other data sources to help make recommendations to leaders about focus areas for their organizations (e.g., employee engagement, satisfaction, retention, etc.).
Level of Responsibility:
• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.
• Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
• Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
