This position is within the Laboratory Products Group (LPG) business unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific reporting to the Laboratory Plastics Division (LPE) Rochester, NY

A day in the Life:
Lead a dedicated team of salaried and hourly employees to achieve distribution excellence and ambitious company goals while delighting the customer.Coordinate with cross-functional departments (customer service, transportation, operations, commercial, etc.) to develop the most efficient inbound, outbound, and order fulfillment strategy while maintaining customer expectations.Provide Site financial information (expense analytics, cost drivers, reporting) and maintain annual budget targets in partnership with senior management.Initiate investigations into process failures, product failures, and safety incidents, determining and implementing appropriate corrective and preventive actions.Develop and implement a strategy of continuous improvement to include productivity and efficiency improvements.Drive effective communication within the distribution center and with other departments across the company.Lead 3PL performance and financialProvide opportunities for cross-training and leadership development through mentoring, coaching, performance reviews, and career development.Develop, mentor, and evaluate (PMDs) distribution leaders, and develop Performance Improvement Plans when vital.Serve as an effective safety steward by ensuring accurate reporting of near misses and attending safety trainings.Operate a safe work environment through continuous safety awareness and full compliance to all EH&S programs and activities.Partner with EH&S to foster a safety-first culture and improve safety procedures and metrics. Serve as a safety steward by reporting near misses accurately and participating in safety trainings.Lead a team 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) supplier, ensuring they consistently meet performance expectations, including on-time delivery and inventory accuracy, while driving continuous improvement initiatives.Conduct thorough financial cost analysis and develop strategies to optimize distribution costs without compromising service quality or customer satisfaction.Uphold Thermofisher's values and standards in all interactions with customers, ensuring a positive representation of the company's commitment to excellence and reliability in logistics services.Ensure high standards of inventory control accuracy, including ownership and execution of a robust cycle count program in compliance with corporate and regulatory requirementsKeys to Success:
Education
Bachelor’s degree required.Experience
At least 5 years of relevant experience is required.Proven experience as a people leader.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required to effectively manage and motivate a large team, build relationships with employees, peers, and management, and prioritize customer satisfaction.Must have a consistent track record of optimally managing a financial P&L, building, and achieving an annual operating plan that drives year-over-year cost reductions.Must possess the leadership skills to take charge and inspire change by initiating actions.Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and change.Must have superb coordination skills to plan, coordinate, and set priorities to facilitate timely execution.Must possess strong systems (including database management and reporting) and project management skills; must be PC literate in Outlook, Excel, Access, and Word.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).Knowledge of ERP systems.Consistent, dependable, and accurate in carrying out responsibilities.Follows and provides direction accurately and efficiently.Excellent communication skills.Maintains personal composure in high-paced and stressful situations
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $100,400.00–$150,650.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
