Job DescriptionThe Distribution Center SR, Maintenance Tradesperson is responsible for ensuring the operational integrity of the facility, including basic upkeep, minor repairs, and coordination of third-party contractors. This role requires a foundational understanding of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and the ability to perform basic maintenance tasks to support facility operations. The individual will serve as the primary point of contact for all vendor activities and be on-call for urgent facility issues. Position reports to the Distribution Center Manager.
Key AccountabilitiesPreventative MaintenancePerform periodic preventative maintenance on facility systems and equipment.Conduct routine inspections of MHE for basic functionality and safety compliance.Facility Assist with general facility maintenance and minor repairs (dry wall, painting, plumbing, electrical, Fab installs ).Ability to maintain water level(s) in battery cells used in MHE by performing routine checks.Maintain lighting systems by replacing lamps, tubes, and bulbs inside and outside the building.Keep inventory of filters, lamps, bulbs, and other supplies; place orders or coordinate with vendors for out-of-scope repairs.Proper upkeep of all drinking fountains and bottle fillers throughout the facility.Safety & ComplianceInspect and document fire extinguishers and fire main system conditions.Ensure compliance with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.Perform site safety training for vendors working on-site.Vendor & Contractor CoordinationAct as the liaison between site leadership and vendors for all maintenance-related work.Ability to review multiple bids for a job and with the partnership of the Distribution center manager make decisions on best proposal.Oversee third-party contractors performing repairs, installations, or inspections.Ensure contractors adhere to site safety standards and operational guidelines.Emergency ResponseServe as the on-call point of contact for urgent facility issues or breakdowns.Coordinate immediate repairs or temporary solutions to minimize operational downtime.Technical SkillsBasic understanding of electrical systems and single-phase installations.Familiarity with pneumatic air systems and dock door/leveler repairs.Experience with racking installation and inspection processes.General RequirementsAbility to work unsupervised and adapt to changing priorities.Reliable transportation and valid Driver’s License preferred.Ability to work on elevated surfaces (ladders/manlifts). Strong communication skills for vendor coordination and reportingQualifications/Requirements
