Responsibilities
Develop Lead and mentor development of real-time software for critical sensing, control, and safety management of the robotDevelop automated tests to ensure high-quality software releases and accurate functionalityWork closely with the mechanical design and control teams to specify hardware actuation and sensing requirementsWork closely with the electrical and mechanical design teams on board design, compute selection, and the development of platform-level libraries that enable modularity and scalabilityDeliver high-quality code in a real-time embedded environmentAdditional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalentDemonstrated ability to break down complex problems into actionable incremental progress in a continuous integration development environment Strong experience developing firmware in C/C++/Rust for real-time embedded systemsExperience with hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN/CAN-FD, UART/RS232Experience with real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or real-time Linux)Experience with network communication technologies, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, and pub/sub frameworks like NATSFamiliarity with safety-critical system design standards (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 61508, ISO 26262)Experience interfacing with motors, encoders, sensors, and/or computer vision systemsExperience root-causing problems with limited telemetry and building in robust fault diagnosticsFamiliarity with kernel-level programming and driver developmentExperience with automated testing infrastructure and continuous integration practicesPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $110.00/hr.
