Position Summary
The Senior Analyst, External Reporting is an essential member of the Corporate Accounting team, primarily responsible for leading the preparation and timely filing of SEC reports. This role ensures adherence to U.S. GAAP and relevant technical accounting standards. Reporting to the Director of External Reporting and Technical Accounting, the Senior Analyst collaborates closely with various team members across the broader organization. Beyond core reporting duties, the position actively contributes to strategic initiatives focused on enhancing and streamlining the financial reporting process, as well as addressing technical accounting matters.
Responsibilities
+ External Financial Reporting: Lead in the preparation, review and timely filing of SEC reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q and associated 8-Ks, ensuring that all filings are materially accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements. Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, non-GAAP disclosures and other earnings materials while performing detailed tie-outs.
+ Internal Reporting: Own the preparation of internal financial reporting packages for executive management.
+ Regulatory Compliance Management: Ensure completeness of our financial statement disclosures by managing quarterly checklists. Monitor and evaluate new regulations and accounting pronouncements to ensure the global organization maintains compliance with evolving standards.
+ Policy Development: Responsible for the writing and updating of accounting policies, ensuring they reflect best practices and regulatory requirements.
+ Technical Accounting Expertise: Lead complex technical accounting analyses and prepare comprehensive technical accounting memoranda to support the financial accounting and reporting treatment for new, complex, or unusual transactions.
+ Month End Close: Oversee stock compensation accounting. In addition, may take on ownership of other corporate accounting functions on an as-needed basis within Corporate Accounting.
+ External Collaboration: Develop strong working relationship with external auditors facilitating effective communication during annual audits.
+ Internal Controls Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls for areas of responsibility.
+ Process Improvement Initiatives: Identify and lead other ad hoc projects or process improvement initiatives within Corporate Accounting.
Qualifications
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
+ Certification: Active CPA license is strongly preferred.
+ Experience: A minimum of five years of public accounting or equivalent industry experience in SEC reporting.
+ Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting principles, with a proven track record of applying these principles in a corporate setting.
