This role is within the Controllership Organization supporting AMEX Assurance Company (AAC), a wholly owned subsidiary of American Express Company.  AAC is primarily a property and casualty travel-related insurance company that underwrites fee-based insurance and no additional charge (NAC) insurance products for US Card Members.  The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) will primarily be responsible for ensuring the appropriate accounting and reporting to select states and territories where US Card Members reside to comply with insurance license requirements.

The SFA will report to the Manager who will lead a team responsible for statutory filings to various states/municipalities in the United States. They will work closely with the key business partners in the AAC business. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain deep knowledge of the U.S. insurance business within American Express, as well as gain exposure to and insight from leadership.

Prepare and review state filings and payments, ensure accuracy and timely submissions Effectively operate control and compliance-related activities Pursue continuous improvements in the process and drive efficiencies Build relationships with the AAC business and product partners to understand and help deliver on priorities 

Qualifications

Minimum 1+ years of financial and accounting experience Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience in property and casualty insurance is a plus Proven problem solver and generator of new ideas  Highly motivated individual with an ability to prioritize across multiple tasks and work with ambiguity Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Demonstrated comfort in operating in a fast-paced environment
